About Naked Blend: The Future

Posted by Naked Blend on

Having healthy dietary habits is a key behavioural factor for increased longevity and better health! This is why Naked Blend was created. But, what constitutes a healthy, natural and sustainable diet, and why did we come up with the idea of plant-based milk tea? Keep reading to find out more.

As Richard Branson puts it: “A business is simply an idea to make other people’s lives better.” In Singapore, the government often focuses on public health nutrition, especially for kids, implementing initiatives such as the Healthier Meals in School Programme. This is done to help Singaporeans develop a healthier relationship with their food from young.

However, for young working professionals and older adults, it’s sometimes harder to have a balanced and healthy diet due to long working hours. We are surrounded by such an abundance of food that we may gravitate toward over-consumption. It’s not enough to just increase awareness of what constitutes healthy eating. We need to have healthy food options too.

The birth of Naked Blend in Singapore - A Futuristic City State

A good diet often consists of plants, fruits, vegetables, and sustainably sourced ingredients that are good for our body. Plant-based living can be very friendly for the planet and for our health. Though the Naked Blend team started out with the signature product plant-based milk tea, customers loved it so much that they started proposing ideas for a wider range of yummy and nutritious products that included not just plants, but fruits, vegetables, and sustainably sourced fish collagen.

What will our diet look like in future? We are facing climate change, population increase, excess demand for meat, new sciences and technology relating to food production and cultivation. What is going to happen? It looks like our diets are becoming more complex, nutrient-dense, and flavourful.

Lab-grown meat is going to be a growing trend. A rising minority will decide to go full veg, foregoing most meats totally. For this segment, the 2030s and 2040s will be the golden age of vegetarianism. The combination of synbio and superfood plants available by then will constitute an explosion of veg food possibilities. As a result of this diversity, a wealth of new dishes and eateries will emerge, making being a vegan mainstream, if not the dominating norm.

Far, far away

In the far-flung future, it’s quite possible that grains and vegetables could be sourced from somewhat more expensive superfoods rather than GMOs. The key differences are that the bulk of the fruit will be GMO, and the meat and fish will be lab-grown. A more expensive diet would look like this: Grains and vegetables will be sourced from superfoods, with the majority of food consumption coming from increasingly uncommon, naturally grown and conventionally farmed meats, fish, and dairy. Essentially, a low-carb and high-protein diet.

As dramatic as these dietary changes may appear now, they will take place over the course of 10 to 20 years. The transition will be so gradual that it's hardly noticed. And, for the most part, it will be for the better - a sustainable diet is better for the environment and generally healthier. In many ways, it improves everyone's wellbeing.
